DISCOVER OCCIDENTAL MINDORO
Occidental Mindoro, officially the Province of Occidental Mindoro, is a province in the Philippines located in the Mimaropa region. The province occupies the western half of the island of Mindoro. Its capital is Mamburao, but the largest municipality is Sablayan occupying almost half of the entire province. As of 2020, Occidental Mindoro has 525,354 inhabitants.
The province is bordered on the east by the province of Oriental Mindoro, and on the south by the Mindoro Strait. The South China Sea is to the west of the province and Palawan is located to the southwest, across the Mindoro Strait. Batangas is to the north, separated by the Verde Island Passage, a protected marine area and the center of the world’s marine biodiversity.

- Abra de Ilog which simply means ?opening of a river,? is a serene and quiet town that serves as the only gateway to Occidental Mindoro. Probably what makes the town busy and noisy in a day is when a RORO ship docks in its port, carrying with it hundreds of locals and tourists alike eager to visit what Occidental Mindoro has to offer. It has many popular attractions, including Talipanan Beach, Aninuan Beach, Agbalala Water Falls, and Bisay Falls making it well worth a visit.
- Calitaan is (Tamaraw’s Haven) home to an impressive selection of attractions and experiences. Ragara beach resort is a gem to find in the small town of Calintaan. It is one of the most highly-ranked resorts in the province. Mt. Iglit-Baco National Park, Salugsog Falls, and Saint Michael the Archangel Parish Church.
- Looc is a wonderful seaside resort and excellent recreation center. The islands are under consideration to be set as a UNESCO tentative site due to its geographic importance, biological diversity, and intact rainforests. - Lubang is a paradise breaking out of its shell. Its vast farmlands, virgin beaches, amazing marine life and striking scenery as well as the natural hospitality of the locals are warm welcome that await everyone. - Magsaysay‘s highlights include natural attractions; Magtangkop River, Sibalat Beach, Bukal Springs, and Garza Island. Aricultural, coastal, and marine products, street dancing, fairs, sports, competition, a parade of beauty, and awards for provincial achievers or excellent performances.
- Mamburao is best known for its stunning coastal scenery and quality resorts that put it in a class all of its own. Tayamaan Beach, Isla De Oro Lagoon, and Fatima Beach Resort.
